Call for Nominations – 2022

The BC Seniors Games Society (BCSGS) through the Nominating Committee is recruiting nominees for its Board of Directors to serve in executive officer positions.  The Nominating Committee invites candidates of eligible individual members to fill four executive committee positions in the 2022 elections.

The Nominating Committee is actively seeking prospective candidates who have strong leadership skills, vision and show commitment to our mission to improve the health, lifestyle and image of British Columbia’s 55+ population.  Each position will commence at the end of the virtual Annual General Meeting on September 15, 2022.

Chair – Marketing/Sponsorship Committee – (1 year remaining on 2-year term)

Are you who are we looking for?

The BCSGS seeks to build and maintain a Board of Directors comprised of leaders committed to building a strong organization capable of adapting to the future of the evolving and adapting environment of sport for the 55+ population.   BCSGS is committed to gender equity and representation that reflects the diversity of the province when recruiting board members.

We are seeking prospective candidates who have attributes and experience set out in the Board of Directors Information package.  In order to be eligible, candidates must be individual members of the Society who are in good standing and must submit a criminal record check.

Executive board members may spend approximately 10-20 hours a month preparing for, and attending, board and committee meetings.  The board is responsible for strategic direction, resource development and governance of itself and the 55+ BC Games.  In addition to being a governing board, board members are expected to chair or participate on committees and complete board work as members of a working board.

  1. Download the 2022 Candidate Information package and 2022 Candidate Application form
  2. Contact adminassistant@55plusbcgames.org to receive an electronic letter required to obtain a criminal record check
  3. Submit an expression of interest as outlined in the information package to nominations@55plusbcgames.org by Sunday, July 31, 2022 at 9 pm PT
  4. Ensure you are available between August 2 – 19, 2022 for an interview with the Nominating Committee member
  5. Attend the election to be held during the Annual General Meeting on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 7:00 pm PT. AGM will be held at the Hotel Grand Pacific located at 463 Belleville Street, Victoria.  The AGM takes place during the Greater Victoria 2022 55+ BC Games Sept 13-17, 2022.
