Summary
The Nanaimo 2025 55+ BC Games take place in Nanaimo from September 9 – 13, 2025.
The first round of competition gets underway on Tuesday September 9, 2025 with hockey, and practices happening at most venues.
Several special events will take place throughout the Games.
The Opening Ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 10, at Serauxmen Stadium, featuring local entertainment, special guests, past athletes, and community leaders. The event will highlight the spirit of community that defines the 55+ BC Games.
A ‘Mixer at Maffeo’ will take place on Thursday September 11 at Maffeo Sutton Park and is open to the community. There will be live entertainment, food trucks and an opportunity to explore Nanaimo’s iconic harbourfront.
The week culminates in the Passing of the Flag Ceremony on Friday September 12 at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre, where we celebrate the Games with live music and dancing, and officially pass the torch to the next host community.
The 55+ BC Games are presented annually in different communities around the province.
