Born and raised in Burnaby BC, Diane had a fitting start in the 55+ BC Games in Burnaby in 2012, participating in slo-pitch, She has been a strong supporter ever since. Diane enjoys playing pickleball, slo-pitch and golf as well as spending time with her family and friends.

Professionally, she enjoyed a 34 year career working throughout Vancouver in Parks and Recreation and has now been retired for ten years. She first got involved with the Zone 4 Lower Mainland Board and eventually became the Director participating on various BCSGS committees. For the past two years, she was the Vice-President – a rewarding experience working with everyone.

As the President, she looks forward to working with the Executive, Staff, Board, Host Societies, Provincial Sport Organizations and the Provincial Government to ensure the continued success of the BC Seniors Games Society and the 55+ BC Games. She is passionate about the 55+ BC Games and providing opportunities to participate and continue to be active for life.

Born in Regina, Lauren attended and graduated from Notre Dame College in Wilcox, Saskatchewan.  She moved to Victoria in 1981 to attend university and never left.  Her career with the Province of British Columbia spanned 30 years and included work in areas of social policy development and implementation.  She retired in 2020 and is now a consultant.

Her volunteer work spans many backgrounds, including 4 years on the Board for the Capital Region Female Minor Hockey Association as the Director of Governance and on her Strata Council for 6 years. She also volunteered at the World Juniors in Victoria in 2019.

Sports have played a huge role in her life and she continues to be involved in hockey, both as a player and as the coach. Last year included trips to both the Canada and the BC 55+ Games.

Lauren is fueled by an undeniable love for sport and for the people that play alongside and against her; “We savour the time during and after the competition”.  Community is an important part of our lives – her goal is to work to ensure the 55+ BC Games continues to present that opportunity to all.

And – yes – she remains a loyal fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders!

Gordon has been involved with BC Seniors Games since 2002 when he competed in the Prince George Games in Golf. He has gone on to win several medals in that particular Sport and competed most recently in Golf in the 2024 Salmon Arm Games.

In 2009, he joined the Executive of the BC Seniors Games Society as the Secretary/Treasurer a position he holds to this day. In 2010, he became a Level 2 Rules Official for Curl BC.

In 2012, he became the Golf Co-ordinator for Zone 1 and passed the Level 1 Golf Rules Official Course.

Gordon joined the Board of Directors of the Canadian Senior Games Association, and in 2018 became the President of that Organization.

Over the years, he has been involved in a number of sports including Golf, Soccer, Baseball and Curling.

Gordon has held a number of Executive positions for a number of Organizations, including Terrace Curling Association, Peninsula Youth Soccer Association, Cloverdale Minor Baseball Association, and Terrace Little Theatre Society.

Gordon has been involved with amateur Theatre over the years, having acted, directed and produced plays for Terrace Little Theatre.

Kim is a transplant from Whitehorse Yukon where she served as a board member for Softball Yukon for 10 years. During this time the organization hosted both National and International events. She also volunteered as a Security Representative for the Canadian Winter Games in 2007.  Kim is now joining the BC Seniors Games Society as a Board Member overseeing the Communications Committee.

Kim has a long-standing involvement in sports since high school, playing basketball, volleyball, 5 pin bowling,  cross country skiing, snowshoeing, badminton, squash, floor hockey, soccer and slow pitch. She has a passion for sports and enjoys being physically active.

The Salmon Arm 2024 55+ BC Games were Kim’s first attendance at the Games and she was completely thrilled to be a part of it. She is looking forward to being a long and active member of the Games family as so many athletes competing in their chosen sport is truly inspiring.

Wayne moved from New Brunswick to Nelson in September 1994. He attended Selkirk College and graduated from the Golf Management Program in 1996. Wayne then worked in Golf Management until 2003, when he began his home renovation business. In 2009, he purchased a flooring store and operated both these businesses until 2016 at which time he retired.

Wayne was the BCSGS zone 6 Director for 8 years. He was a member of the Rules Committee for three of those years. He is an avid golfer and curler, and has represented Zone 6 in these sports at the 55+ BC Games. Wayne is looking forward to serving as the Rules Committee Chair and to the opportunity to work with all members of the Rules Committee to ensure the organization continues to review and update the rules and have the best 55+ BC Games that we possibly can.
